Internships at Triangle Cyber are 12 weeks long. We have had interns start at various dates throughout the year. However, the typical dates are:
Fall: 9/3 through 11/23
Spring: 1/6 through 3/31
Anybody regardless of their past experience level may apply to be considered for an internship. You could be a current student, a young professional, a military service member transitioning into civilian jobs, or even someone looking to transition their career into cybersecurity. We recommend that you have worked with the fundamentals of Cybersecurity, Linux, and a few of the tools mentioned here – but the internships are designed to be learning experiences! If you don’t have a lot of cloud experience or haven’t worked with many industry-level tools, our online curriculum can help you get up to speed.
Triangle Cyber internships are typically exclusive to people living in the Triangle NC area, however, we do make exceptions (and have before). Please don’t hesitate to apply!
Triangle Cyber expects interns to spend 10 hours per week at a minimum on related internship material, with the option to work more hours if you desire. The time of day in which you complete work is irrelevant – create your own working hours as you wish!
All Triangle Cyber internships are unpaid – but are designed to provide you with valuable skills and real-world experience that can be added to your resume.
Because Triangle Cyber is a remote company, most of the work you will complete each week will also be remote. Triangle Cyber does not provide interns with equipment, and expects interns to use their own computers to complete their work.
There will be many opportunities throughout the internship period to join local meetings set up by the team, come along to cybersecurity events and workshops, and work collaboratively with fellow interns in the area.
Our goal is to provide you with a “learning environment” that enables you to gain valuable hands-on experience that can be added to your resume. Here are some of the tools and tasks you would become familiar with (not an exhaustive list!):
After submitting the below application form, we will review your application and respond to you via email. If accepted, we will send you an acceptance form to be digitally signed. This form will contain a few more questions and in-depth responses. From there, we will welcome you onboard and introduce you to your fellow interns!
Unfortunately, we are at full capacity and are no longer accepting applications for the Triangle Cyber internships. Thank you.
